What is the best nonprofit software?
Answer by Sherman Wong:
The technology infrastructure of most nonprofits is usually the bottleneck of growth for the organization. All nonprofits vary in operations, size, and technology proficiency.
I would advocate using SalesForce if your nonprofit is a valid 501c org because it is free. Unfortunately, the configuration may seem a bit daunting for non-tech savy staff. Software, web apps, services, etc are only as effective as the staff members that can adopt them into the organization's workflow.
I've also seen some small orgs run proficient with an excel ninja managing their membership list (not recommended) but it worked for their purpose.
The lowest common denominator will be Google Apps suite to centralize all documents and make sure everyone is looking at the most up-to-date docs.
